North Dakota has accepted the Medicaid Expansion provision of the Affordable Care Act, In North Dakota; there are 30,000 uninsured adults who will be eligible for the Medicaid Expansion program. When the state expanded its Medicaid program, and starts the Medicaid Expansion initiative. 24,000 individuals will be eligible for Medicaid Expansion. 5,000 are currently eligible for Medicaid under the states program but are not enrolled.

North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple is part of handful republican governors to accepts the Medicaid Expansion terms of the Affordable Care Act. Other Republican led states that have accepted the Medicaid Expansion provisions included. New Mexico, Nevada, and Arizona. The other states led by Republican Governors have either stayed silent or have turned down the option.
In a bill submitted last week to the North Dakota state legislature, House bill No. 1012 Governor Jack Dalrymple states the purpose of expanding Medicaid in North Dakota was to help defray the expenses to the department of HHS. The bill also provides an itemized financial listing of the potential cost that would be defrayed by North Dakota. In an interview last week the Governor stated this comment

“We try to leave the politics out in the hallway when we make these decisions. In the end, it comes down to are you going to allow your people to have additional Medicaid money that comes at no cost to us, or aren’t you?” he said. “We’re thinking, yes, we should.”

Interestingly enough, even though the governor and the state of North Dakota is moving ahead with the expansion of Medicaid, North Dakota notified the department of HHS that North Dakota would not setup its own Health Insurance Exchange another key provision of Obamacare. North Dakota is joining 25 other states mainly led by republican governors that are not setting up their own health insurance exchange.

Number of adults to participate in Medicaid Expansion in North Dakota?

When North Dakota establishes the Medicaid Expansion program, there will be a range of 29,000 to 40,000 adults who will be eligible and may participate in the Medicaid Expansion program by 2019.

How much will it cost North Dakota for the Medicaid Expansion program?

It is estimated that North Dakota will spend in the range of $32 Million to $57, through Medicaid expansion to 2019 The federal government will cover 100% of the cost of the additional enrollees for the first three years.

    Hello Friends,

    Governor Rick Perry millions of under-privileged poor Texans who do not have any Health Coverage will be covered under The Affordable Care ACT (ACA) expansion of MEDICAID!

    My Physician wife's practice is partly dependent on MEDICAID and its viability. Please allow the expansion of MEDICAID to occur in Texas under The Affordable Care ACT.

    Believe it or not IT IS A FACT: If states choose to expand Medicaid, the federal government will cover 100 percent of the costs from 2014 to 2016. The feds' contribution will begin to decrease in 2017, but will never be less than 90 percent, under the ACA.

    That's why I created a petition to Governor Rick Perry, Texas Governor, The Texas State House, The Texas State Senate, and Governor Rick Perry, which says:

    "Please ACCEPT the FREE EXPANSION of MEDICAID under The Affordable Care ACT."
